The city emblem and the flag were adopted on Apr 17th 2005 by Notice No 194. The yellowish orcher flag has a green , yellow green two color city emblem in the center. The city emblem symbolizes chrysanthemum and Kikugawa River water. The city name is Kiku (chrysanthemum) and Gawa (river). Two colors stand for abundant nature and industry of the city and also represents two former towns were merged and become one. As a whole the emblem represents city’s image that the citizen and the nature develop together. The flag proportion is 2:3.
