The town emblem was adopted on Mar 20th 1968 by Notice No 1 but there is no flag law. The blue flag has a white town emblem in the center. The town emblem is a combination of stylized kanji 川 Kawa of Kawazu and hiragana つ Zu which symbolizes Kawazu River running thru the center of the city into the Pacific Ocean. The round shape stands for people’s conformity. As a whole it is an image of a tourist site with hot spring.
