The city emblem was adopted on Aug 4th 1927 by Notice No 33 but there is no flag law. The blue flag has a white city emblem in the center. The city emblem is a combination of stylized katakana ヌ Nu of Numazu and a pine needle. The city is popular for pine tree woods as a place of scenic beauty.
