City Flag

According to the city website, the city symbol was adopted 1 April 1969 and symbolizes the city development. The city symbol is green, representing solidarity of the people (interpretation enacted 10 Marh 1988), although my original source document appears to have shown the symbol in a purple.
Phil Nelson, 24 August 2006

The city emblem and the flag were adopted on Apr 1st 1969 by Notice No 5. The white flag has a purple city emblem in the center. The city emblem is a stylized hiragana とう To of Tokai. It represents the citizen’s solidarity and the progress. The flag proportion is 7:10.
Nozomi Kariyasu, 14 May 2014

According to Mr. Kariyasu I changed the dimensions of the municipal flag.
