The city emblem and the flag were adopted on Apr 1st 2004 by Notice No 1 and 2. The white flag has a red and a blue two color city emblem in the center. The city emblem is a stylized kanji 丹Tan. The center circle symbolizes a rising sun. It represents a rich nature such as mountains, sea, winds and waves. The flag proportion is 2:3.
