The town emblem was adopted on Nov 21st 1969 and the flag was adopted on May 17th 1988 by Notice No 19. The green flag has a white town emblem in the center. The town emblem is a stylized hiragana う U of Ujitawara. It represents a Japanese tea bud as a traditional products of the town. The flag proportion is 5: 7.
