The city emblem was adopted on Jun 25th 1965 by Regulations No 4 but there is no flag law. The purple flag has a white city emblem in the center. The city emblem depicts an earring used Jomon era symbolizing a birthplace of Kawachi Culture and a large keyhole-shaped tomb mound made in Yamato Dynasty. It represents an image of the city which makes a leap forward and a firm collaboration of the citizen.
