The city emblem was adopted on Aug 29th 1943 by Notice No 115 but there is no flag law. The white flag has a red city emblem in the center. The city emblem is a stylized kanji 貝 Kai of Kaizuka inside of five pineneedles derived from a beautiful pine tree HIMEMATSU in old days and also surrounded by five cap of waves symbolizing Osaka Bay. It represents a wish for a firm contract of merged former five towns and villages.
