The town emblem and the flag were adopted on Dec 10th 1968 by Notice No 50 and 51. The white flag has a red town emblem in the center. The town emblem is a stylized kanji 島本 in a modified form of a historic Kusunoki family crest of a chrysanthemum on water. It represents a bright future in a good circumstances. The flag proportion is 2:3.
