The city emblem was adopted on Jan 4th 1943 by Notice No 2 and the flag was adopted on Nov 10th 1980 by Notice No 78. The green flag has a white flag charge in the center which is different from the city emblem. The green color stands for a youth and a nature. The flag charge is a stylized kanji 伊 I of Itami in a form of a swan in Koyaike Lake. The flag proportion is 7:10.
