The city emblem was adopted on Oct 1st 2005 by Notice No 1 but there is no flag law. The white flag has a maroon city emblem in the center. The city emblem is two stylized katakana シ Shi of niShiwaki. It represents a soar and a harmony of the city which was developed in a confluence zone of Kako River and Sugihara River.
