The city emblem was adopted in 1958 and the flag was adopted on Jun 29th 1968 by Notice No 32. The green flag has a white city emblem in the center. The city emblem is a stylized katakana サ Sa of Sanda. It represents an image of the city which works towards a new city development with a reconcillation and a solidarity. The flag proportion is 11: 15.
