The town emblem was adopted on Dec 7th 2004 by Regulations No 142 but there is no flag law. The white flag has an orange, a blue and a pink three color town emblem in the center. The town emblem is a stylized kanji 南 Nan of Nanbu. The orange color stands for the sun and persimmons, the blue color for a clear sky and Lake Ryokusui, the pink color for a spiritually rich feeling and a secure feeling. It represents the town people who has a heartful feeling and the enriched town.
