The city emblem was adopted on Oct 1st 2005 by Notice No 80 but there is no
flag law. The white flag has a light blue, a green and a blue three color city
emblem in the center. The city emblem is a stylized kanji 三 Mi of Mihara. The
light blue color curved line stands for a superb big sky, the green curved line
for mountains , an abandunt earth, the blue curved line for Seto Inland Sea and
the small three circles for sprays of water. It represents an image of the city
which makes a great leap forward to the hopeful, bright and vigorous future with
a blessed natural emvironment and co-existence and co-prosperity with an
accumlated history and culture and valued human contact.
