The town emblem and the flag were adopted on Nov 1st 1966 by Notice No 9. The maroon flag has a white town emblem in the center. The town emblem is a stylized katakana アブ Abu in a spiral pattern. It represents a leap and a surge.
The flag proportion is 2: 3. The length of the emblem is 53/135 of the length of the flag.
