The city emblem was adopted on Nov 11th 1937 by Notice No 109 and the flag was adopted on Dec 28th 1937 by Notice No 122. The white flag has a blue city embelm in the center. The city emblem is stylized katakana ホウフ Hofu. The circle stands for a solidarity of the citizen and the four triangles for a power of surge of the developing city. The flag proportion is 2: 3.
