The city emblem was adopted on Nov 5th 2005 but there is no flag law. The white flag has a blue, a green and an orange three color city emblem in the center. The city emblem is a stylized katakana ハ Ha of yawataHama. The blue color stands for a salt breeze from Uwa Sea and Iyo Sea, the green color for a breeze from an orange orchard and the orange color for the oranges and the sun. It represents an image of generating wind of the age making a leap forward to the future and whirlwind of change.
