The Shimanto town emblem was chosen from a large number of submissions from
around the country. It uses the kanji 四 (shi - four) of Shimanto to create a
figure of union/merging and an image of the Shimanto river. The emblem stands
for a village/country area of full peace of mind with vitality, with everyone
richly building each other up.
The emblem was chosen at the 20th amalgamation meeting on 16 November 2005. The
town was formed, and the emblem used from 20 March 2006.

The town emblem was adopted on Mar 20th 2006 by Notice No 1 but there is no flag law.
The white flag has a blue, a green and an orange three color town emblem in the center.
The town emblem is a stylized kanji 四 Shi of Shimanto.
The small three curved lines symbolize the merged two towns and one village.
It represents a comfotable and a vibrant town where the people was grown up
in an abandunt nature and lives together.
