The town emblem was adopted on Mar 1st 2006 by Notice No 1 but there is no flag law. The white flag has a blue, a green and a red three color town emblem in the center. The town emblem is a stylized kanji 有 Ari of Arita in a form of a flying bird. The blue color stands for an image of the town which is a flying bird in the world sky, the green color for a co-existence with the beautiful and rich nature and the red color for a fire of a kiln, a passion and a cooperation of the town people. As a whole, it represents the town in which the people, the nature and the culture flap wings into the future.
