The city emblem and the flag were adopted on Aug 1st 2004 by Notice no 2. The white flag has a green, a blue, a light blue and a red four color city emblem in the center. The city emblem is a stylized G of Goto. The wave stands for a harmony, the sun for the people’s vigor and the green oblong for an abundant nature and a concord of the people. It represents the marine city creating richness of the islands. The flag proportion is 2: 3. The height of the emblem is 3/5 height of the flag.
