The city emblem was adopted on Oct 1st 2005 by Notice No 1 but there is no flag law. The white flag has a green, a blue and an orange three color city emblem in the center. The city emblem is a stylized hiragana ひ Hi of Hirado. It represents a new voyage to the interchange age, an image of the city and the citizen who makes a leap forward to the future and the vigorous city made by the sea, the islands, the ground and the people.
