he city emblem and the flag were adopted on Oct 1st 2005 by Notice No 1 and No 2. The white flag has a blue, a green and an orange three color city emblem in the center and the kanji name in black vertically at the lower hoist. The city emblem is a stylized hiragana き Ki of Kitsuki. The blue color stands for water and the green color for the nature. It represents a reconciliation, a solidarity and an exponential development to the future and the prosperity. The flag proportion is 2: 3. The height of the emblem is 3/5 height of the flag.
