The Flag

The flag was adopted on Feb 1st 1966 by the prefecture by Notice No 9. The flag proportions are 2:3. The blue flag is charged with a white stylized  kanji Oita 大分 in the center. The round symbols represent peaceful development of the city.

Saganoseki Town / 佐賀関町

The flag of former town of Saganoseki was green (or blue) with mark. The town is now, from 2005, part of the city of Oita.

Perhaps a bit more inclining towards blue, but this might be a good approximation for now, too.
