The town emblem was adopted on Jan 1st 1954 by Notice No 1 but there is no flag law. The maroon flag has a yellow and a black two color town emblem in the center. The town emblem is a stylized kanji 三 Mi of Mimata in a form of the town tree gingko biloba. The circle symbolizes a peace and the fan does hopes and a surge to the future.
