The village emblem and the flag were adopted on Nov 5th 1973. The green flag has a white flag emblem in the center which is different from the village emblem. The flag emblem is a stylized katakana シ Shi of Shiiba. The green color stands for beautiful natural circumstances and the warm hearts of the villagers, the white color for the development of the simple and honest village, the mountain for the forests.
The flag proportion is 5: 7. The height of the emblem is 65/100 height of the flag.

Town Emblem

Most of Japanese municipalities use their emblem in the municipal flag however 13 municipalities don't use the emblem but specially designed charge in the flag.
The village emblem was adopted on Nov 5th 1973. The village emblem is a stylized katakana シ Shi of Shiiba is a form of a rice mortar. The circle symbolizes the villagers reconciliation and solidarity and the rice mortar does a development to the future.
