Only the image [depicted above] is verified as the flag design by your sources. The other image could be considered a possible variant for now, because the town's mon does appear in that shape.

The town emblem was adopted on Oct 15th 1955 but there is no flag law. The maroon flag has a yellow town emblem in the center. The town emblem is a stylized hiragana つの Tsuno. It represents a vigorous industry of the town, a reconciliation, a cooperation, hopes and a surge of the town people.
