The Flag

The flag of city of Ibusuki is white with symbol. The city was founded on 2006 from merger of towns of Kaimon and Yamagawa.

The city emblem and the flag were adopted on Aug 1st 2006 by Notice No 166 and 167. The white flag has a yellow, a white, a red and a green four color city emblem and the English city name horizontally in the center. The city emblem depicts a great orange tip butterfly flying to the future from a top of Mt.Kaimondake. The three white wavy lines stand for a reconciliation of the merged one city and two towns and also abandunt hot springs, the circle for a harmony of the new city, the yellow letter I and u for a city of love and hotsprings. The flag proportion is 2: 3. The height of the emblem is 63/100 of the height of the flag.
