The village emblem was adopted on Mar 19th 1979 but there is no flag law. The white flag has a red, a blue and a green three color village emblem in the center. The village emblem is a stylized kanji 北大東 Kitadaito. The center part symbolizes the village people’s reconciliation, solidarity and peace, the expanse in four directions does the village’s unlimited surge. The red color stands for fertile land, the green color for sugar cane crop and the blue color for the sea.
