The town emblem was adopted on May 25th 2004 by Notice No 23 but there is no flag law. The maroon flag has a blue, a green and a white three color town emblem in the center. The town emblem is three stylized hiragana く Ku of Kumejima. The oblong symbolizes the town people’s concord. As a whole, it represents the town’s further development.
