They used white field charged with red well curb in the center 白地赤井筒紋旗 as
Domain's naval ensign.

Ah, so it's a well curb. I'd seen that charge before, but I didn't recall the
meaning.
A white flag, 5:8, with a centred red well curb, its height three quarters of
the height of the flag.
