Current Ensign

On Dec 15th 1940 by Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Notice No 612 the third Fishery Inspection ship ensign was adopted. The white, red, white horizontal three striped ensign has kanji 水 = water in blue with a white fimbriation in the center. This ensign is still in use.

1913 Ensign

On Apr 1st 1913 by Ministry of Agriculture & Commerce Notice No 102 the first Fishery Inspection ship ensign was adopted. The white flag has a kanji 水 = water in blue in the center.

1920 Ensign

On Jul 16th 1920 by Ministry of Agriculture & Commerce Notice No 165 the second Fishery Inspection ship ensign was adopted. The red flag has a kani 水= water in blue with a white fimbiriation in the center.
