Overview

Rusne (Silute District) - on blue field a silver sailboat "kurenas", head divided per pale, right side on silver red pile, left side divided per pale to red with silver reversed pile and silver with red pile. Flag proportions 10:11, free edges bordered with stripe of red and silver rectangles, finial is golden knob. Kurenas is a traditional sailboat of fishermen of Curonian lagoon. Since 1844 every boat had to use a weathercock with the sign of the village. On Rusne Island there Pakalne village used white rectangle with red pile, and Vorusne village used divided per pale rectangle red with white reversed pile and white with red pile. Rusne town appeared by merger of those villages. So in the arms of Rusne there kurenas mentions traditions of this fishermen land, and head contains signs of Pakalne and Vorusne villages.
