Sasnava (Marijampole municipality) - on red field silver pale
(red-silver-red 1-2-1), black hare and red 8-pointed
star above. Flag proportions 5:6, free edges bordered with
tight red strip, finial is golden knob, staff is black. The hare
is canting: "sasnis" means "hare" in Old
Prussian language, from which the name of town originates. The
8-pointed star symbolizes knowledge and revival.
