Akmene (not to be confused with Akmene District which uses the
flag of Naujoji Akmene) - on a silver field with a green bordure
on the free edges five arrows two over three, heads of arrows
silver, shafts tenne, fleches blue. Flag proportions 1:1, fringe
is blue, finial is a silver arrow head with cap and inscription
"PRO LIBERTATE" ("For freedom" in Latin), and
golden bands. The charge is a 5 times multiplied charge of arms
granted in 1792, and the motto is replaced from the shaft of the
arrow to the finial. The arms should symbolize
readiness to defend freedom with weapons, as on many arms of
Lithuanian border towns, granted in late 18th century.
