Overview

Flag and coat of arms of Jurbarkas (Taurage county - Taurages apskritis, Jurbarkas district - Jurbarko rajonas). The flag is drawn according to my personal observation from the flag show of Mindaugas coronation 750th anniversary. The coat of arms is drawn according to image from the book: The Heraldry of Lithuania.

Jurbarkas (Jurbarkas District) - On a red field three fleur-de-lys two over one. Flag proportions 5:7, fringe is silver, finial is a silver top of a fleur-de-lys. The charge of arms granted in 1611 is most likely related to Jonas Sapiega, the chancellor of Lithuania, who got the city rights for Jurbarkas from King Sigismundus Vasa. Three fleur-de-lys is the apocryphal first arms of the princely Sapiega house before the adoption of the Lis arms.
