Overview

Balninkai (Moletai District) - on a red field a silver 8-pointed star. Flag proportions 10:11, free edges bordered with silver rope, finial is a golden knob and silver bands. The meaning of arms granted in 1792 is not known. There is no reason for relating it with Auseklis star, the ancient sacred symbol of Balts. The common European symbolism of revival and knowledge is relatively more probable, though this would be bare speculation too.
