Overview

The flag and the coat of arms of Urena city (Utena county, Utena district - Utenos apskritis, Utenos rajonas). The Previously Reported Flag is drawn by me according to my personal observation. The coat of arms I drew according to the picture from the book: The Heraldry of Lithuania.
Audrius Slapsinskas, 4 July 2003

Utena (Utena District) - On a white field the arms of Utena: a horseshoe and an 8-pointed star. Flag proportions 5:6, fringe is golden, finial is a wooden tip with a ring. The horseshoe symbolizes both luck and traditions of horse-breeding and horse-racing. The star symbolizes dashing growth: Utena is one of the oldest settlements and towns in Lithuania, but its rapid development to a city happened in the 19-20th centuries.
