  • Overview

The Previously Reported Flag and the coat of arms of Elektrenai city (Vilnius county - Vilniaus apskritis). The flag is drawn by me according to cover of magazine Lithuania Presents (<www.tm-lt.lt>). The coat of arms I drew according to the picture from official site of Elektrenai municipality (<www.elektrenai.lt>).

Elektrenai - On a blue field a triple lightning-broken golden sinister bend and two golden 8-pointed stars. Flag proportions 5:6, fringe is golden, finial is a golden knob. The lightning bend symbolizes the Elektrenai power plant, also it is partially related to the name Perkunkiemis (Perkunas is the Lithuanian god of thunder and lightning, as well as of heaven, justice etc.): that was one of villages swept off by the establishment of new city. The upper star symbolizes the lights of the new city. The lower star symbolizes the villages drowned in the artificial lake Elektrenu Marios, created for the power plant.
