Album 2000 [pay00]
shows a 1:1 green flag with coat of arms in the middle.
I suspect this flag is rather new (part of early 1990’s flag
reorganization?), since it is not mentioned neither in
FTTAAATW [smi75b] nor
in FAAATW [smi82] nor
even in Crampton [cra90].

Flag of the king of Morocco — the dates of validity are
unknown, probably in the 70s. Source : Jiří Louda,

According to Lux-Wurm’s article [lux01],
The Royal flag is a red triangular flag with a yellow border on its free edges
and a green and yellow pentagram placed in the middle of the flag. Lux-Wurm
says that this flag was the standard used by Hasan II (1961-1999).

In Lux-Wurm’s article [lux01], ratio
is ≅5:7, while Louda [lou72] seems to
show it much wider, ≅7:11.

This flag is also shown in
1955 Flags of All Nations [hms55].
In Fachinger [fcgXX] are quoted as sources
the 1954 Album des Pavillons March 1957 ammedement
[f9r57], and
Carr Flags of the world [car53].
(The yellow border is always pictured or quoted as dark yellow.)

Spanish newspaper El País published an article (15th
July 2000, Comunidad Valenciana supplement, p. 3) about an
audience granted by King Muhammad VI of Marocco to the president of the
Valencian Region (Spain).
Behind the King appears a national flag with a border made of embroidered
olive leaves (possibly golden, possibly green as the star). It may be
simply an ornament, but it certainly is not simply a fringe and I wonder
whether this might be any kind of royal standard.
