The symbols of Tivat are described in Article 4 of the municipal Statutes (text), adopted in 2004, as follows:
The coat of arms is a yellow shield. On it is shown in blue a bay-shaped dock with a figure of the city tower in the lower middle part. In the middle of the shield is a stylized figure of a ship in the T-shaped top.
The municipal flag [photo] is rectangular with a length of at least twice the width of its base, light blue with the coat of arms drawn in the middle.
The old coat of arms of Tivat (image) has a red star.
