Ratsimilaho was the son of Thomas White, a British pirate, who died
in Madagascar early in 1708, reportedly of "excessive drinking and other
irregularities".
In the 18th century Betsimisaraka was tributary to Boina,
but our friend Count Benyovski persuaded them
to stop payment.
