Flag: yellow with a blue cross centered with arms of 1/5 flagheight; in top hoist in yellow a black horn with a red cord.
The blue cross reminds of the Augustine monastery as well as the four canals converging in Burgum. The fish symbolizes fishing in the Burgumermar, and also Christianity - symbol of Christ. The horn refers to the arms of the municipal division of Trynwâlden and to the nobility which used to live in Burgum. The tree is a symbol of the forest in the environment; the trees have economic value because of tree cultivation and the barking mill, which alas has disappeared.
