Echteld [former] municipality
On 1 Jan 2002 Echteld merged with Dodewaard
and Kesteren to form the new municipality of
Kesteren, which was renamed Neder-Betuwe on 1 Apr 2003.
Echteld is a municipality in the western Betuwe, the riverlandscape
of Waal and Neder-rijn (Lower Rhine); contains since 1923 the municipality
of IJzendoorn.
The flag was adopted 13 May 1954. The Coat of Arms is the municipal Coat of Arms. The
BYN colors bottom right are the colors of the flag of Gelderland, while
the RW 'main' colors are the municipal colors, combined pointing at the
national flag of the Netherlands.
