Population (1 Jan 2003): 8.550; area: 67,90 km². Settlements: Vorden (seat), Delden, Kranenburg, Linde, Medler, Mossel, Veldwijk, Vierakker, Wichmond, Wildenborch.
Vorden is c. 10 km southeast of Zutphen. It has 8 castles and is the place where the famous Dutch poet A. C. W. Staring lived and died.
Flag: adopted 24 februari 1970.
The flag is a nice adaptation of the municipal Coat of Arms; the waves stand for the water of the 'vorde' (ford) in the Vordense beek. The checky part is derived from Coat of Arms of the family Vorden.

On 1 January 2004 the new municipality of Bronckhorst (Gelderland) was formed out of the merger of Hengelo (Gld), Hummelo en Keppel, Steenderen, Vorden and Zelhem.
