unofficial flag used 1938; official villageflag since 2008
On 3 December 2008, "WebRegio.nl" reported that Nibbixwoud "has again its own flag". The flag was recently presented to Mayor of Medemblik, Van Eijk, by Jaap van Diepen and Hans Boukens, on behalf of the Village Council of Nibbixwoud.
The municipality of Nibbixwoud used until the incorporation into Wognum in 1979 a red, yellow and blue flag charged with three perches, which was recently reinstated. A colour photo partially depicting the flag shows two horizontal stripes, red on top and yellow below it, and a light blue canton charged with three yellow perches one above each other. Since the bottom of the flag is not shown, we cannot exclude a bottom blue stripe, but the main field might be yellow, as well.
This "new old" flag contradicts the description given on the FOTW website.
Either the source of the information on the FOTW website is erroneous or
the flag was changed between 1969 and 1979.

I have photocopies of the original decision of the municipal council of 30 September 1969, with description and B/W image of the old Nibbixwoud-flag, exactly as on the FOTW-page.
The flag they present is probably the one used at the presentation of
the municipality at the 40 years jubilee of Queen Wilhelmina, see Noord-Holland
Paradeflag: the
parading flag of Noord-Holland with the municipal arms of Nibbixwoud
in the canton.

Flagdescription: a green hoist and a blue fly; at the dividing line
a yellow perch of 1/3 flagheight.
Adopted 20 Sep 1969 by municipal resolution.

Nibbixwoud was a munifipality with 2.200 inhabitants in Westfriesland
(Northeast Noord-Holland), between Hoorn and Medemblik. Settlements: Nibbixwoud
(seat), De Ganker, Hauwert (part), Wijzend (part), and Zwaagdijk.
In 1979 it became part of Wognum municipality, and on 1 Jan 2007 of
Medemblik.

Description: azure three perches or.
The perches probably refer to the main occupation: sweetwater fishing.
