On 1 Jan 2004 Naaldwijk merged with De Lier,
´s-Gravenzande,
Monster en Wateringen,
to form the new municipality of Westland.
Number of inhabitants (1 Jan 2003): 28.772; area: 25,33 km². Settlements:
Naaldwijk (seat), Honselersdijk, Maasdijk.
Flag: three equally wide horizontal stripes of white, red, and white,
with in the center the municipal arms in gothic design with a height of
two stripes.
