Moerhuizen doesn't exist. On 1 Jan 1991 the former municipalities of
Moerkapelle and Zevenhuizen merged to form the new municipality of Moerhuizen;
in 1992 the name was changed to the more poetic Zevenhuizen-Moerkapelle,
which is still the name of that municipality in Zuid-Holland province,
just east of Zoetermeer.
For Moerhuizen a flag was designed and adopted 28 May 1991: two equally
wide horizontal stripes of yellow and green; in the center of the yellow
stripe a red chapel; the green stripe interrupted in the center by a vertical
yellow stripe of 1/7 flaglength.
This flag was designed after the proposed arms of the new municipality
(only granted 17 juli 1991).
It was used for only a few months, to be replaced by the present one
on 18 Nov 1991.

Moerkapelle is now part of the municipality of Zevenhuizen-Moerkapelle
in Zuid-Holland province. In 1965 it adopted a flag: blue with in the center
a wavy stripe, and in the canton a chapel, both yellow.
