See also:Mr. Zuydgeest from Vlaardingen, a fishery expert par excellence provided
a convincing photo, taken on "Vlaggetjesdag" in 1962, when the "De Hoop"
was moored at the Koningin Wilhelminahaven in Vlaardingen. It shows clearly
a white fimbriation around the Dutch flag in the canton. That fimbriation
was not (or hardly) noticable on the images sent by Andries van de Loo.

André van de Loo was fortunate in finding an old captain
of the Hospitalchurchship "De Hoop", Mr. Rog in Scheveningen, who was a
captain for 28 years. Mr. Rog showed a photo with a sailing "De Hoop" in
1911, showing the "HKS"-flag like the one I sent earlier, and a name-pennant
of "De Hoop".
However the "HKF"-flag was IMO different from the one André
showed earlier: the canton shows the Dutch flag, with a brighter shade
of blue than the main field, and with proportion c. 1:2.

The name-pennant is c. 1:3, blue with white "DE HOOP" in bold letters.
