new firebrigade flag

The Dutch Firebrigade has, following the Dutch Police, adopted a new housestyle. On this website is written:
"The symbol, with flame and shield, forms as logo the nucleus of the firebrigadeshousestyle. The golden stylized flame - in combination with the color - makes it evident that this is the logo of the Firebrigades. Everybody associates the flame with the most important task of the Firebrigades: fight fires. But the flame stands for more: alertness and prevention. The shield indicates that the Firebrigades protects against threats. The three elements forming the shield accentuate firefighting, assistance and co-ordination in calamities."
The new flag can be found on the website mention above, by clicking "Middelen", with an image; by clicking on "vlag" one gets more info. I took a photo of the new flag in Kollum (Fryslân) to show how the flag looks for real.

A bad move! In the old flag the logo was complicated, but on the new flag the word "BRANDWEER" has to be added to make it recognizable. And the color of the logo: impossible to describe in a decent way!

Indeed again a newfashioned "golden" logo - but people might confuse it with the "pilot-flame" of the Police, so to be on the safe side they put "BRANDWEER" on it. I fear it's an irreversable trend.

Considering the general layout of the flag -- would they put out fires under water also?... (Sorry, couldn't resist!)
