"Lima Region, also known as Lima Provincias, is one of twenty-five regions of
Peru. Located in the central coast of the country, its capital is Huacho.
Lima
Province, which contains the city of Lima, the country's capital, is located on
the western part of the Lima Region. However, this province is autonomous and
not part of the region.
The Region has area of 32,129.31 km² and population of 780,881. The region is
divided into nine provinces, which are composed of 128 districts."
